A Message from the Family of Alex Menashe

Last updated: March 18th, 2026

Alex Menashe

Thank you for the love, support, and comfort you have shown our family during these difficult days. Yesterday’s memorial meant so much to us, and we know it would have meant the world to Alex. We are deeply grateful to everyone who came to honor him and share their stories.

Today (March 17th), on what would have been Alex's 35th birthday, we are especially aware of how many lives he touched in too short a time. Alex was deeply loved by everyone who met him, and it brings us comfort to know his memory lives on in so many hearts and actions.

He was a special son, husband, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, friend, coach, and so much more. Seeing the community come together for him—and for us—reminds us that nothing matters more than family and community, the very things Alex treasured and lived by.

Thank you for continuing to hold us in your thoughts, for your kindness, and for helping us remember and celebrate Alex’s life. If you would like to view the recording of the memorial service, please click here (Password: Q8sjRm).

We are heartbroken to share the news of the passing of Alex Menashe, Head Coach of the Westview High School Boys Lacrosse program. The Oregon lacrosse community has lost one of its own.

Alex -- a beloved husband, son, brother, friend, and coach-passed away on March 12, 2026, at the age of 34, far too young. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Nadine; his parents, Sanford and Wendi; his brother Benjamin (Emilie); the entire Westview Lacrosse program -- both high school and youth -- and the greater Oregon lacrosse community.

The Oregon High School Lacrosse Association extends its deepest condolences to the Menashe family and all who knew and loved Alex.

A memorial service will be held Monday, March 16 at 1:00 PM at Congregation Neveh Shalom (2900 Peaceful Lane, Portland, OR 97239).
